Thanks for climate agreement efforts

March 13, 2018

Thanks for the cartoon depicting sea level rise with Delaware being the lowest-lying state.

Now a great shout out goes to Mayor Becker of Lewes and Mayor Kuhns of Rehoboth Beach for joining over 200 other American mayors in signing a letter urging the president not to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.

That was a great leadership effort. Well done. What this means for the other mayors in Sussex County is to join the climate mayors in committing to meet the Paris Agreement's pledge of reducing climate change pollution by 26 percent. This is only possible if they set up a Climate Plan Committee, make a plan, and implement it.

Already, lots of other cities in America are aiming for 100 percent clean, renewable solar and wind energy, as well as efficiency. Therefore, we should too.
