Mr. Moribund's Theatre of Terror will hold its summer screamer shows at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 1 and Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Riverfront Theater in Milford, featuring the 1960 monster movie “The Little Shop of Horrors.” Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets will only be sold at the door.
“2025 is the 10th anniversary season of our show, and we're very excited to bring this Roger Corman classic to our audience, the Moribunch. This is the original 1960 film, not the ‘80s musical, and it is a lot of fun, with a special appearance by a very young Jack Nicholson. We chose it to coincide with the upcoming production of the musical which will be on the stage not long after our show,” said W.J. Walton, show creator and performer.
The show will feature a screening of the film, along with live performances by the Theatre of Terror cast, live music and comedy, costume contests for adults and children, raffles, vendors in the lobby, and audience participation. Attendees will have the opportunity to win one of a series of Moribund cereal boxes filled with prizes, along with other treats offered by local businesses, in the raffle that benefits True Colors, a charity aiding LGBTQ+ teens and youth who are homeless.
Since 2015, Mr. Moribund's Theatre of Terror has presented a series of live shows at the Riverfront Theater. The shows are modeled after the classic horror host television programs of the 1950s through today. They feature a classic film from the golden age of monster movies along with comedy sketches, live music and talent performances, costume contests, audience participation and more.
