Theodore E. Harding, worked in car business
Theodore (Ted) (Gene) Harding, 85, of Ocean View, was born Dec. 31, 1930, in Washington, D.C. He died June 30, 2016.
Ted is survived by his wife Betty; and children: Gerianne Moreland, Theo (Valerie) Harding, Julie (Eduardo) Baldi; and grandchildren: Nicholas Moreland, Maxwell Harding, Harrison Harding, Giacomo Baldi and Dario Baldi; and by his brother Robert. He was predeceased by siblings: Bernice, Francis, Thomas, Gerald, Jane and Stanley.
Ted grew up in Washington, D.C., with his seven siblings in Georgetown and SE, DC; was active in the SE Police Boys Clubs; a Golden Gloves Champ, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Ted and his wife Betty loved to dance, and were seen at many of the local dances around the D.C. area in their youth.
He worked in the car business as a salesman, manager and wholesaler for over 40 years. He enjoyed his time with the VFW in Ocean View and served as junior vice commander. He participated by honoring local vets in various ceremonies, and in their fundraising effort by working at the Chicken Shack. He loved his grandchildren - all boys - and they loved their Pop-Pop.
Services will be held Monday, July 11, at St. Ann’s Church, Bethany Beach, with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.; and military funeral honors at 1 p.m. at Delaware Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
