Thomas A. Maloney, veteran, avid outdoorsman
Thomas A. Maloney, 100, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at Harrison House of Georgetown. He was born April 7, 1923, in Milford.
Tom served honorably as a combat engineer in World War II, and after the war, he was a heavy equipment operator until 90. An avid outdoorsman, he was also a founding member of Greenbriar Hunting Club. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, McKinley and Averla; and his son, Edward.
He is survived by his wife of 77 years, Gladys; his son, Barry (Aileen); his daughter-in-law, Donna; his grandchildren, Chris, Ryan, Clay (Sarah) and Jenna (Beau); and great-grandchildren, Chase, Dylan, Behr, Buck and Bennett.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 29, at Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford, with visitation beginning at noon. Burial services will be at Milford Community Cemetery.
