Valuable information was available for the people in attendance. September is National Recovery Month, which celebrates the more than 21 million Americans in recovery from substance use disorders. It’s held every year to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the nation’s strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and communities who make recovery in all its forms possible.
Since the weather didn’t cooperate and the annual Recovery Walk was canceled, Thresholds Inc., in partnership with Attack Addiction, held a pizza party at Grotto Pizza on Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach Sept. 18.
Also attending was Courageous Hearts, a group with a mission to incorporate the healing power of horses to provide quality psychotherapy and personal development opportunities to individuals, families, groups, businesses and corporations.
“Community events such as this one are held nationwide to highlight the courage, hope and resilience of those in recovery,” said Thresholds Inc. Treatment Director Sue Harris.
Thresholds Inc. is a private counseling center in Georgetown that specializes in the treatment of alcoholism, opioid addiction, substance abuse and dual diagnosis.
