County Bank recently welcomed Tom Thunstrom to its growing team of banking professionals as a vice president and commercial loan officer.

He joins County Bank after serving as area director of the Delaware Small Business Development Center, where he led outreach and services in Sussex and Kent counties, and also served as coordinator for statewide SBDC business advisor professional development and lender relations.

During his tenure, Thunstrom helped Delaware SBDC achieve its highest number of business starts and level of lender-financed capital in more than 20 years, increased the number of lender partnerships, and played a key role in the agency’s recent successful peer accreditation review.

His advising expertise at the SBDC included supporting hospitality and manufacturing businesses, operations, finance, technology and business acquisitions. He is accredited in export finance and cybersecurity through the Small Business Administration.

Thunstrom recently served as board treasurer for the Lewes Public Library and is looking forward to increasing his engagement in the Lewes community.

An avid runner, reader and occasional foodie, Thunstrom is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and resides near Lewes with his wife, Kelly.

"We’re extremely excited to welcome Tom to the team. His experience supporting startups and navigating complex county, state and federal lending programs brings a valuable dimension to our bank as we continue to expand our reach and support local business growth,” said Clay Serman, senior vice president, chief lending officer.
