Town of Bethany Beach names photo contest winners
The Town of Bethany Beach recently announced Maryrances Berger of Ocean View as the winner of its 2022-2023 photo contest, with her “Running with the Gulls” shot of a young girl on the seashore chasing a flock of seagulls.
In all, 114 amateur and professional photographers entered the contest submitting a combined total of 300 photos. Some 50 images were selected as semi-finalists and narrowed down to 17 that will be included in this year’s town calendar. The public was notified by email and social media of an opportunity to choose the winner by completing a survey.
Out of 1,096 unique participants, Berger’s photo received almost one third of the vote. Berger said she credits her win to a strong following on Facebook. Her prize is a 2022 VIP parking pass good for free parking at any space within town limits during the summer season.
