Trinity partners with Perdue, food bank to provide holiday dinners

Trinity Logistics and the Trinity Foundation successfully held their second annual Thanksgiving for All Food Drive last month in conjunction with Perdue Farms and the Food Bank of Delaware. The event spanned a six-week period to collect monetary donations to supply 250 families with a Thanksgiving meal box filled with a roaster chicken, side dishes, vegetables, and dessert.
Team members from Trinity Logistics and the Food Bank of Delaware came together to package the boxes of food to be delivered to a list of families selected by the community organization Love INC of Delaware, and Perdue joined in to deliver the meals. With the donation of 250 roasters by Perdue, and all other food provided by the Food Bank in exchange for the monetary donations raised, Trinity Logistics was able to meet its goal of feeding 250 families this holiday season.
"We were thrilled to join Trinity Logistics and the Food Bank of Delaware in an event like this that provides a holiday meal for families in Sussex County," said Kim Nechay, executive director of the Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms. "At Perdue, we believe that in a country as rich in resources as ours, no one should have to go hungry."
This was the second year that Perdue joined Trinity for the Thanksgiving cause and the first for the Food Bank of Delaware. Both organizations have agreed to join with Trinity again for next year’s food drive.
“We feel very blessed to have been able to partner with Perdue Farms and the Food Bank of Delaware to be able to help those in our local community have a Thanksgiving meal they otherwise might not have been able to have,” said Jennifer Wright of Trinity Logistics.
