The University of Delaware women’s lacrosse team returned to Champions Stadium at Cape Henlopen High School Oct. 11, for the annual fall clinic. More than 60 young local athletes participated in the event, which featured hands-on instruction from Delaware players and coaches in shooting, stickwork, defensive footwork and other fundamental skills.
Cape Henlopen High School head coach Lindsey Underwood was thrilled to welcome the Blue Hens back for another year. “This is such a great event for young players from the Cape Region and beyond,” she said. “The UD team brings so much fun and energy to the field. Everyone was excited for the day, and to have such a great turnout was amazing. We must thank coach Amy Altig and the UD staff for coming down each year to help us grow the game.”
The annual clinic has become a fall tradition, giving young players from across Sussex County the opportunity to learn from Division I athletes and coaches while building excitement for the upcoming spring season.
