Vikings Basketball Camp a slam dunk at Beacon

August 17, 2024

More than 35 young Michael Jordans and Caitlin Clarks learned fundamentals as well as advanced skills during the Vikings Basketball Camp Aug. 5-7 at Beacon Middle School.

Cape coach Steve Re, Beacon boys’ coach Sean O’Grady and Vikings all-state varsity players Faith Re and Amalia Fruchtman taught the fundamentals of passing, dribbling and shooting, and defensive, offensive and transition concepts. All proceeds benefit the Cape Boys’ Basketball Booster Club.

“Camp was a great experience this week,” said Steve Re. “We had a range of ages starting from third through eighth grade. Campers had a chance to work on fundamentals, transition concepts, three-versus-three and five-versus-five. The kids worked hard and had a great time. The Cape boys’ basketball program always appreciates the community and the support they give us.”
