Vincent Cirello, retired from transportation

Vincent Cirello, "Pop,” 85, of Milton passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.  He was born Nov. 14, 1935, in Manhattan, N.Y., son of the late Maurice and Anna (Raevis) Cirello.

Mr. Cirello built a lifelong career in the transportation industry. He worked for APA Transport Co. as a truck driver, dispatcher, and operations manager from 1961-88.  He then went on to work for New England Freight Company, from which he retired in 1997.

Mr. Cirello enjoyed recreational sports such as softball, basketball, bowling, golf and bocce. He was also fond of card games, going to the casino, and going on cruises with his wife.

Mr. Cirello was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was also a member of VFW, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and was a Eucharistic minister.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cirello was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Anne (Avellanet) Cirello; and his daughter, Debra Cirello. He is survived by his children: Donna Perna of Woodbridge, Va., Valerie Bajada of Manahawkin, N.J., and Vincent M. Cirello of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his seven grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no in-person service.

A  private Funeral Mass via livestreaming will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m., at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Lewes. All are welcome to join the stream by visiting the following link:
