Event includes four-course wine dinner
August 15, 2022

Delaware drummer Ed Shockley and his six-piece band, Vinyl Shockley, will perform Friday, Aug. 19, at The Room at Cedar Grove near Lewes.

All proceeds benefit Paul Kares, a nonprofit that supports aspiring musicians and hospitality-industry professionals.

Shockley performs in several area bands, but the Aug. 19 event represents a rare Sussex County appearance with Vinyl Shockley, which plays original music inspired by the rhythm and blues of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s from Memphis, Muscle Shoals and New Orleans.

“We’re honored that Vinyl Shockley chose The Room at Cedar Grove for their performance,” said musician-chef Paul Cullen, founder of the event venue and co-founder of Paul Kares. “Ed is so well-known and well-respected not only in Delaware but internationally. His resume is awesome.”

Shockley is the founding member of Jack of Diamonds, a popular mid-Atlantic band. In addition to Vinyl Shockley, he also plays with The Reminders and The Funsters.

“Clearly, Ed is in demand, and we’re lucky to have him with Vinyl Shockley,” Cullen said.

Tickets are $85 each, and profits from events at The Room at Cedar Grove benefit Paul Kares. The fee includes the concert, meal and wine but not gratuity. The event runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit paulcullen.rocks/events.
