Virtual caffeine and cover crop event set Feb. 10

February 2, 2021

A virtual caffeine and cover crop event will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10. Amy Shober, professor and extension specialist for nutrient management at the University of Delaware, and Jayme Arthurs, Delaware state resource conservationist for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, will discuss cover crop seeding rates. This event is free and preregistration is required.

“Due to COVID-19, we are unable to host our normal, in-person, winter soil health series. However, we are excited to take the caffeine and cover crops breakfast event online. We can promote farmer-led discussions about soil health with industry experts to a larger audience,” said Debbie Absher, director of agricultural programs at Sussex Conservation District.

Those who sign up to attend will receive an email with the event link upon registration.

This event is presented by the Delaware Soil Health Partnership, SCD and USDA NRCS.

For more information or to register, go to sussexconservation.org/events or call Siobhan Kelley, SCD communications and outreach specialist, at 302-856-2105, Ext. 122.
