Virtual event to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware May 7
Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware will host a one-of-a-kind celebration and fundraiser, Masquerade-in-a-Box, from 6 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 7. Reservations are due by Thursday, May 6, and can be made at bgclubs.org/maskball.
Virtual attendees can enjoy a festive evening of music, food and drinks, all from the comfort of their own home. The virtual format was developed in line with elected officials’ directives, and to prioritize the health and safety of community members.
The evening kicks off with a cocktail prepared by one of The Starboard Raw’s stellar mixologists as guests explore the wide array of attractive online auction items. Delicious appetizers will be included in their gala box, along with a 4-course gourmet surf & turf meal for two curated by Big Fish Grill restaurant.
As always, the event is a celebration of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware’s success and an occasion to continue building bridges among communities in Sussex County and beyond. Attendees of this virtual gala will be supporting over 3,000 youth and their families throughout Sussex County. Proceeds support educational and social programs as well as scholarships for youth in need, unmasking great futures for thousands of children.
Since 1931, Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, a statewide community service agency, has provided invaluable services to children and their families in the areas of education and career exploration, character development, health, fitness, and arts and cultural enrichment.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need support the most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The agency provides a safe place to learn and grow, life-enhancing programs and character development experiences fostering hope and opportunity.
“The past 12 months have been extremely challenging, but we continue to do whatever it takes to make sure that youth have what they need, during and after this unprecedented crisis, to succeed. We are grateful for the support of individuals and organizations throughout our communities who continue to help us serve those who need us the most - we cannot do it without their support,” said John S. Wellons, Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware president and CEO.
