Visit Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market in Grove Park July 2

June 28, 2019

On Tuesday, July 2 the Rehoboth Beach Farmers’ Market will have just-picked produce for Independence Day backyard cookouts or beach picnics. The market, located in Grove Park adjacent to the Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center is open weekly Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Just look for the white tents.

Don’t miss out on some of the first-of-the-season local corn picked that morning along with the much sought-after Bennett Orchard peaches and blueberries. Other vendors offer fresh greens, summer squash, radishes, cucumbers and tomatoes. Look for new redskin potatoes for potato salad. If planning a cookout, purchase meats or fish at the market. Find a variety of sausages, fish, pork products and steaks. Additionally, if  knives, scissors or garden clippers need sharpening, look for Roland in the red truck. He can sharpen anything that is made of steel.

A favorite of market customers are the alpacas, and they will be back at the market for petting and picture taking.  Special market events include Independence Day music by the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus, a chance to win a basket of local produce, and a children’s story time at 11 a.m. by the Rehoboth Beach librarian.  There are picnic tables and a children’s playground in the park if wanting to have lunch at the market.  Numerous vendors sell prepared food.

Stop at the Information Tent to learn about the raffle and to purchase market bags and the much-requested RBFM hats that have just arrived.  During market hours, free parking is available within a two-block radius from the market on Henlopen Avenue, Columbia Avenue and Felton Street.

The Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market has approximately 45 vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and fish, prepared foods and culinary items such as pasta, honey, sauces, herbs and spices every Tuesday, May through October.  The market participates in WIC and senior programs and will match WIC and senior coupons.
