Wafaa Ahmed Goldfield, interior architectural engineer, professor

March 12, 2026

Wafaa Ahmed Goldfield, 70, of Milford, was born Jan. 31, 1955, in Beirut, Lebanon. Her journey on earth concluded Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at Cadia Healthcare Renaissance in Millsboro, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with Lewy body dementia.

Upon completing secondary school in Beirut, Wafaa traveled to the U.S. to pursue higher education at Boston University, Boston, Mass., where she graduated with a degree in business and economics. She then returned to Beirut for post-graduate studies at Lebanese University and graduated in 1985 with a master’s degree in interior architectural engineering. Wafaa then began her architectural career in Saudi Arabia and worked for several years as an interior architectural engineer. It was there that Wafaa developed her passion, overseeing major development projects while incorporating her flair for design.

After returning to the U.S. in the mid-1990s, Wafaa obtained her U.S. citizenship, a crowning achievement second only to her educational triumphs. Cambridge, Md., became her home, and she eventually launched WAFF Interior Design. Later in her career, Wafaa joined Wilmington University as an adjunct professor in the School of Arts and Sciences, teaching art classes for many years at the Dover and Georgetown campuses. Connecting with her students through art was something Wafaa immensely enjoyed, and it allowed her to cultivate a multitude of meaningful relationships with both students and colleagues.

Wafaa was preceded in death by her father, Ahmed Hamad; and mother, Kafa Damaj. She is survived by her brother, Jamal Hamad of Beirut, Lebanon; her sisters, Mona El Maabi and Sara Moabbi, both of Garden City, Mich., along with their respective families; her devoted partner and companion, Robert “Bo” Marsh of Milford, who Wafaa adoringly referred to as her “Endless Love”; stepdaughter, Erin Marsh Lee and granddaughter Avery of Lewes; stepson, Brandon Marsh and Laura Gates; and grandsons, Bo and Asher of Encinitas, Calif. Wafaa also leaves her closest friend of more than 20 years, Nourhan Scotto, of Cambridge, Md., along with her extended family.

Fafi, as she was affectionately called, lived each step of her life with courage and enthusiasm, and no matter what the challenge, she faced it head-on with her contagious smile and unrelenting spirit. Fafi’s loved ones would like to recognize the staff and caregivers of the Country Rest Home in Greenwood and Cadia Healthcare Renaissance in Millsboro for their kindness and compassion.

Most sincere gratitude is extended to our brothers and sisters of Delmarva Muslim Community, Salisbury, Md., for offering open arms and hearts with only a moment's notice and for seeing our sweet Fafi to Jannah.

A service providing final rites in honor of Wafaa Ahmed Goldfield was held Nov. 18, 2025, at Delmarva Muslim Community Mosque, followed by a private burial at Delmarva Muslim Community Cemetery, Snow Hill, Md.
