We need Claire Snyder-Hall in Dover

October 8, 2024

Please join me in voting for Claire Snyder-Hall for state representative for District 14.

Before declaring her candidacy, Claire served with distinction, over a period of five years, as the executive director of Common Cause Delaware, a non-partisan statewide organization dedicated to promoting voting rights and ensuring that our government was more accountable, transparent and ethical. I have served on the CCDE board for the past three years. From that close working relationship with Claire, I know her to be person of intelligence and compassion with high moral standards and unquestionably strong ethics. As executive director, Claire walked the talk!

During her tenure as executive director, Claire developed strong positive relationships with many state legislators. She knows them and they know her to be thoughtful and strategic in getting legislation passed. She is the only candidate in this race who will be able to hit the ground running because of her knowledge and understanding of the General Assembly and her relationship with her colleagues.

Here's a quick review of just some of Claire’s notable accomplishments as CCDE executive director:

  • As a key member of Delaware’s Voting Rights Coalition, Claire fought hard to safeguard the freedom to vote, protecting early voting and vote by mail. She is a strong advocate for no-excuse absentee voting
  • Claire was the point person who persuaded legislators to block Seaford’s recent attempt to give voting rights to corporations and LLCs. Claire knows that corporations are not people and should not have multiple votes in municipal elections
  • She helped to organize community-centered redistricting after the 2020 census
  • She helped lay the groundwork to ensure that Delaware will eventually establish the badly needed inspector general position to protect against fraud, waste and abuse in state government
  • Claire was a champion for campaign finance reform and will work hard to get these measures passed.

Claire is the only candidate in the RD 14 race who can claim this level of accomplishment, commitment and expertise. She is the only candidate who has the background, knowledge and experience to represent the residents of this district in the House of Representatives.

Claire, a lifelong Democrat, is a champion for reproductive rights and equality for everyone. Claire has been endorsed by a host of organizations, community leaders, and past and present legislators who know and respect her work. Now, more than ever, we need a state representative who will represent all of us, someone who will care about the needs of people in this district and someone who will listen and act. Now, more than ever, we need Claire Snyder-Hall for state representative!
