We need Claire Snyder-Hall to serve us

October 9, 2014

As women continue to be markedly underrepresented in all levels of U.S. government, Election Day will offer Sussex Countians an opportunity to challenge the perception of backwater Good Ol’ Boyville and make a leap forward by supporting several local women running for office. I salute them all for their efforts to seek office, but here want to address specifically the timely candidacy of Claire Snyder-Hall.

In all she does, Claire exemplifies integrity, fairness, expertise, and commitment - qualities she will use to foster a more representative presence in Legislative Hall. Claire’s values and goals align with a clear majority of the citizens she seeks to represent:

• Claire is committed to the well-being of the elderly, the less fortunate, and the working people and small business owners too often ignored by those whose power issues from the wealthy few.

• As a former educator, Claire is exceedingly qualified to identify and support effective efforts to improve our schools.

• Claire recognizes the need to expand transportation and health care services in our currently underserved community, improvements that will benefit all.

• Claire champions the need for balance and good sense between two often-competing endeavors: generating job growth while preserving the unique qualities that distinguish our region.

Personable, insightful, inclusive, and decisive, Claire is a productive consensus builder, a woman who listens to people, a natural leader, as well as a kind and caring human being. She will make a responsive, trustworthy, and effective 6th District Senator.

We need Claire. Claire needs us. Please vote for her!
