Wet Septembers can still bring plenty of mosquitos

In a state as wet as Delaware, mosquitos pose a constant threat, especially in active hurricane years which bring plenty of tropical storm moisture. Just because we’re in September doesn’t mean we’re through with the humming critters yet. This photograph from the 1930s shows members of the state’s mosquito control division with a super-sized prop from one of its traveling exhibits.
