White's Chapel UM Church to hold Homecoming Celebration Oct. 26
The annual Homecoming Celebration will be held at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church at 2 p.m., Sunday Oct. 26. Regular Sunday School will take place at 10 a.m. and worship service at 11.
The Rev. Harold Hamilton, son of former pastor William Hamilton, will bring the message at the Homecoming Service, and special music will be provided by Pastor Everett Isaacs and wife Catherine, Dan Tabler and Gloria Holland.
White's Chapel dates back to 1838, holding services in a schoolhouse until 1839 when a meeting house was built. In 1872, the members decided a new church building was needed, and services were held there until 1920, when the building was destroyed by fire. The present structure was built in 1921.
White’s Chapel is at 15373 Coastal Highway in Overbrook community, Milton, two miles north of Red Mill Pond and three miles south of Route 16 on the northbound side of Coastal Highway.
The congregation of White's Chapel invites the community to be part of the celebration and remain after the service for a dinner catered by Marilyn Hastings Catering Service.
