Wings and candy at fourth annual Boo-B-Que By the Sea

October 31, 2018

The fourth annual Boo-B-Que By the Sea at the Indian River Inlet attracted hungry kids in search of sugary candy and hungry adults looking for the best wings during Day 1 of the two-day festival.

Hosted by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s Division of Parks and Recreation, the family festival and barbecue cook-off offered a variety of activities for all members of the family.

The event is a professional barbecue competition sanctioned by Kansas City Barbeque Society. And while the adults enjoyed wings and pulled pork, kids wandered through the campground trick or treating and competing for the best costume award.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Delaware Children in Nature Endowment Fund, which affords opportunities for young people to participate in outdoor experiences.
