Women’s Club of Milton members attend state convention

May 22, 2021

Five Women's Club of Milton members attended the GFWC Delaware State Federation of Women's Clubs 124th Annual Convention held May 12 at the Wild Quail Country Club in Wyoming.

Attendees celebrated Delaware women’s clubs’ accomplishments during the challenging year of COVID-19. A major theme was Looking Forward to the months ahead, while recognizing the perseverance of all the clubs who met and exceeded the unexpected challenges of the year through flexibility and creativity.

In addition to conducting the business portion of the meeting and elections, there was a time of remembrance for the members who passed away from May 2019 to May 2021. The Women's Club of Milton lost four members during this period: Ethel Graham, Isabel McGinness, Jeanne Sposato and Janet Terner. Their laughter and love are missed.

Linda King, Sussex County vice president, invited all to the 125th GFWC DSFWC Convention which will be held in 2022.

The Women’s Club of Milton is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, one of the world’s oldest and largest women's service organizations dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. Each club sets its agenda and works on projects and programs that address the specific needs of its communities. For more information about membership, go to womensclubofmilton.org.
