The Women’s Club of Milton will host its annual Milton Holiday House Tour, the club’s largest fundraiser of the year, from 2 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14.
While the holiday house tour is keeping its traditional second Saturday in December date, the Milton Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Holly Festival will be held on the first Saturday in December this year, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Dec. 7. As in years past, the women’s club will hold a bake sale at the festival featuring delicious home-baked goods, a 50/50 drawing and a raffle for a beautiful handmade quilt. This year, visitors can spend two holiday weekends in Milton enjoying its sights, shops and restaurants.
In its 42nd year, the holiday house tour presents some of Milton's most charming homes, both historic and new, as well as three historic public buildings: Milton Historical Society and Museum, Milton Town Hall and Milton Arts Guild. All will be beautifully decorated for the season.
Last year, the event welcomed more than 480 guests who experienced Milton’s magic and warmth. Proceeds from the tour enable the club to award scholarships, fund town needs for children and teens, and support other nonprofit services. Through the generosity of its supporters, the club awarded three $3,000 scholarships to high school graduates from Milton this year.
Tickets will be $25 in advance and will be available starting Friday, Nov. 1, at the Mercantile at Milton, Friendly Flowers Florist & Gifts in Milton and Lewes Gourmet in Lewes.
Tickets the day of the tour will cost $30, and they will be available from the Mercantile at Milton and the Milton Historical Society and Museum.
Founded in 1890, the Women's Club of Milton is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, one of the world’s oldest and largest women's service organizations dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service.
