October 22, 2018

The GFWC DSFWC Women’s Club of Indian River will hold a membership tea from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, Nov. 12, at the Indian River Yacht Club in Millsboro.

The club was formed in May 2007 to draw local women to become members in pursuit of friendship and dedication to charitable, civic and educational purposes. It is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and the Delaware State Federation of Women’s Clubs, the largest nondenominational, nonpartisan, international service organization of volunteer women.

Meetings are held at 10 a.m., the second Monday of each month at the Indian River Yacht Club. Club business is conducted at meetings, and an educational program is often presented.

The club actively participates in and supports the arts in the local community; education and literacy; the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership program; People’s Place; Auxiliary of Stockley Center; Heifer International; Quilts of Valor/Stockings for Soldiers; local school mentoring; advocacy against domestic violence; and collections for local women’s shelters, soldiers and veterans.

All are welcome to attend and bring a friend. For more information, call 302-947-2640.
