Workers are close to finishing work at Lavinia Street in Milton, completing the force main for Artesian’s new wastewater treatment plant.
The work restricted traffic on Lavinia Street Dec. 17, and work continues on fixing the sidewalk near the intersection of Lavinia and Mulberry streets.
Artesian is near completion on infrastructure work within Milton for its new Sussex Regional Recharge Facility on Route 30, which the company plans to have online in the first quarter of 2026. The new plant is part of a 1,700-acre complex of spray irrigation fields, a lagoon and the plant, which will be capable of handling up to 625,000 gallons per day.
The town’s current treatment plant on Front Street is due to be decommissioned and at least partially torn down, with the land reverting back to the town.
