World Wide Knit in Public Day event set June 10

The Sea Purls Chapter of the Knitting Guild of America invites everyone to participate in World Wide Knit in Public Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 10, at Georgetown Public Library, 123 W. Pine St., Georgetown.

Established in 2005 by Danielle Landes, World Wide Knit in Public Day takes place the second Saturday of June each year. It began as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other's company. In 2005, there were about 25 local events around the world. Over the years, there have been local events in Australia, China, Serbia, England, Finland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, Germany and the United States.
