Young pianist spreads holiday cheer for Lewes seniors

January 1, 2026

In the spirit of sharing holiday cheer and her talent with the community, Lea Jaoude, an eighth-grader at Fred Thomas Middle School, presented a piano concert for senior residents at The Lodge at Historic Lewes Dec. 22.

She played classical pieces, pop melodies and holiday themes. “I enjoyed sharing my music with them! It truly made this holiday more special,” Lea said.

A talented and musically inclined young lady, Lea has been playing the piano since she was 6 years old. With the guidance of her mother Mireille, a classically trained piano player and opera singer, and her multi-instrumental, locally renowned music teacher Christy Taylor, Lea has continued to nurture and hone her talent.

Brett Gershman, activities director at The Lodge, said the residents in attendance expressed hope that Lea will come back to play more for them in the future. Her response was, “I will definitely come back!”
