Zelky’s Beach Arcade hosts inaugural Beach Ball Drop
Zelky’s Beach Arcade celebrated the beginning of its 40th season in Rehoboth Beach by hosting its inaugural Beach Ball Drop May 24 at its south Boardwalk location.
For the event, the arcade dropped one huge beach ball and a few dozen normal-sized beach balls.
In addition to celebrating four decades of business, the arcade has expanded its south location and taken over the mini golf course on top of the building.
Zelky’s Beach Arcade has been a Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk staple since the original opened in its current north Boardwalk location in 1985. The arcade, known for its elephant mascot and bright-pink color scheme, opened a second Boardwalk location south of Rehoboth Avenue in 2013.
