Zoar UMC celebrates Advent season
Zoar United Methodist Church celebrated the Advent season with a visit from Santa and Jesus's birthday party Dec. 13.
At the visit from Santa, each child present was given a special gift, and was able to share with Santa their secret dreams for Christmas. At the end of the event, the annual Jesus's Birthday cake was lit by two very special guests.
Each year, the committee selects two people who contribute their time, talents and treasure to the life of the church and the life of the community where they live. This year's honored guests were Reggie and Grace Brittingham of Millsboro.
Zoar has services each Sunday with Sunday School for all ages beginning at 9 a.m. and worship at 10:15 a.m.. It is at 24463 Gravel Hill Road, Millsboro. For more information, call the pastor, the Rev. Ed Wilkins at 302-945-5580.
Christmas Eve services will be at 10 p.m, Thursday, Dec. 24. There will be regular worship at 10:15 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 27 and Come and Go Communion from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 31.
