‘Haunted History of Delaware’ discussion set Oct. 25

October 20, 2021

Just in time for spooky season, the Lewes Public Library, the Lewes Historical Society and Browseabout Books will host a live, online conversation with Josh Hitchens, author of “Haunted History of Delaware,” at 5 p.m, Monday, Oct. 25, via Zoom.

Hitchens’ new book introduces readers to stories of the most frightening phantoms that lurk in Sussex, Kent and New Castle counties. Readers experience the eerie legend of Fiddler's Bridge, meet the ghosts in the Governor's Mansion, and learn the truth behind the Selbyville Swamp Monster.

Hitchens was born and raised in Sussex County. Since 2007, he has been a professional storyteller for the Ghost Tour of Philadelphia. Hitchens is also a theater director, actor and playwright. He researches, writes and narrates the podcast Going Dark Theatre.

The discussion is free to the public. Registration is required. To sign up, go to lewes.lib.de.us and visit the Virtual Programs for Adults page.

Participants also are encouraged to support the author by purchasing a copy of the book from local independent bookstore Browseabout Books. Each copy purchased comes with an archival bookplate signed by the author. Orders may be placed online at browseaboutbooks.com, by calling the store at 302-226-2665, or in person at 133 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
