A Chocolately Good Time in Rehoboth Beach This Weekend

This may not be Hershey, Penn., there may not be streetlights made of candy kisses and the whole town may not smell good enough to eat, but this weekend is all about one early season festival here at the Delaware beaches.

That’s right, it’s time once again for the annual event that is the Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival, with this year marking the 26th year of the popular yearly gathering.

Yes, the weather might be nice and yes, the state parks and the beaches and the outlet malls and lots of other mainstays of life in coastal Delaware will be coming to life with the turn of the calendar to April. But for a few hours on Saturday, Rehoboth Beach will be all about chocolate.

Thanks to our local food industry professionals and chocolate experts, there will be chocolate cakes, and chocolate cookies, and chocolate pies and chocolate drinks and chocolate fudge and…well, I think you get the idea!

This year marks the beginning of the second quarter-century of the event, once again organized by Rehoboth Beach Main Street. All proceeds will again benefit the organization that for decades has been committed to the betterment of downtown Rehoboth Beach.

But one important item to note this year – the festival, which is always held at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, has been temporarily relocated to the Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center on the Boardwalk due to renovations currently underway at the convention center.
