Kite Festival Highlights Easter Weekend Happenings in Coastal Delaware
Last week’s late season storm not withstanding, it’s officially spring now in coastal Delaware. And that means life is about to get much more fun and interesting here at the Delaware beaches.
Here at the Oldfather Group of Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty, we aim to keep you informed of what’s going on here in fabulous coastal Delaware – and this is how we do it.
This weekend features many different Easter Egg hunts for the kids, for example, and we will provide information below for as many of these as we can. But the first big festival of the year also takes place this weekend (Friday) in the form of the Great Delaware Kite Festival at Cape Henlopen State Park.
There are also a few other fun things going on for this first official weekend of spring, so take a look below and see all that coastal Delaware has to offer for the weekend of March 25-27.
Here are our favorites:
Great Delaware Kite Festival (March 25). This is THE big family event going on for this weekend in coastal Delaware. Now in its 48th year, the Great Delaware Kite Festival takes place this Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cape Henlopen State Park. The event includes competitions for several different age groups, an Easter Egg hunt at 11 a.m., an egg toss at 1:15 p.m., and stunt kite flying demonstrations, as well as plenty of food and refreshments and just good old fashioned fun in the park. Click HERE for more information on the 48th Annual Great Delaware Kite Festival.
Delaware Music Festival (March 25-26). If the kite festival is the perfect family festival this weekend, then the Delaware Music Festival at the Rusty Rudder is the perfect early spring festival for young music lovers. Featuring 17 singers and bands, all from the First State, this festival runs for two days at the Rudder. Visit www.deweybeachfest.com/demusicfest for the complete lineup and more information on this fun early season festival.
