Four Sussex Academy students won awards at the Sussex County science fair and qualified to go to the regional Delaware Valley Science Fair: Jack Thomas (Rehoboth Beach), Noah Benz (Lewes), Katya Geyer (Rehoboth Beach), and Kimi Langroudi (Seaford).  At the DVSF on April 6, Noah Benz's project, Oyster Obliteration, placed 3rd for middle school Environmental Science projects out of 26 projects! Noah studied the effects of pH levels and water temperatures on the shells of oysters.  Congratulations to all of our students for their hard work!

  • Sussex Academy is a public charter, tuition free school offering an accelerated academic program for the students of Delaware in grades kindergarten through twelve. The elementary program is based on high academic expectations and a hands-on, integrated approach to learning. The secondary academic programs follow an instructional model that uses the successes of past best practices in interdisciplinary curriculum and project-based learning in the middle school grades and AP (Advanced Placement) courses for the high school grades.

Our students achieve high academic performance through critical, independent thinking and reflection and develop social consciousness through service and community partnerships. The school is very proud of its talented and highly qualified staff that has developed and maintains a challenging curriculum in a supportive and caring environment for its students.
