Waxing gibbous making toward Easter full

March 31, 2018

A waxing gibbous moon rose over the harbor in Lewes Thursday evening this week. Today, March 31, it makes full full.  This is the full moon that sets the date for this year’s Easter celebration.  Easter falls on the first Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox which this year came on March 20. From now until June 20, the hours of daylight increase each day.  Happy Easter, Happy Spring, Happy Optimism!
