Griswold Cares Foundation awards Parkinson's Education and Support Group $2,000 grant

The Parkinson's Education and Support Group of Sussex County has been awarded a $2,000 grant from Griswold Home Care's private charity, the Griswold Cares Foundation. The foundation is a private charity established by Griswold Home Care to further the company's collective mission and values and to give back to the communities it serves.
The Griswold Cares Foundation provides grants to select nonprofit organizations to build, strengthen and sustain programs that enhance the quality of life for individuals who choose to age in place.
Griswold Home Care is a network of purpose-driven and caring professionals who work with each family to enable independence through non-medical home care services. As a reputable provider of services, Griswold Home Care has been based in Sussex County for over 13 years. In 1982, Jean Griswold had a simple goal: to take care of her community. Over 30 years later, the company is still committed to her vision.
The Parkinson’s Education Group’s purpose is to improve services available to treat Parkinson’s on the Delmarva Peninsula. Guest speakers attend each monthly meeting to present up-to-date information on various topics that relate to the disease. Examples include nutrition, aging in place, importance of movement, mental Health & depression and specialized care for the person with Parkinson’s. Information is provided by medical professionals with Parkinson's disease experience.
Executive Director Dennis Leebel invites anyone with an interest in Parkinson's disease to attend the regular meetings.
The group meets at 2 p.m., the first Monday of each month at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 20276 Bay Vista Road in Rehoboth Beach.
