Retiring auxiliarist presents memorabilia to Coast Guard chief

Tom O'Dore devotes 27 years to service

Retiring U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliarist Tom O'Dore presented to USCG Chief James Pond, officer in charge of USCG Station Indian River, his personal copy of the book, “The U.S. Coast Guard in World War II,” plus a wall mirror surrounded by historic nautical knots still in use today.

O'Dore has been a devoted Coast Guard auxiliarist for 27 years, during which he voluntarily contributed many hours in assisting the Coast Guard and the boating public.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 12-09 meets at the USCG Station Indian River in Rehoboth Beach on the second Tuesday of each month.  For more information contact John Ballantyne 302-945-3302.
