Bill Alexson to speak at Sussex County Prayer Breakfast June 14

May 9, 2016

Citizens from Sussex County will gather to pray for local communities at the Sussex County Prayer Breakfast at 6:45 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, at Crossroad Community Church. The music and ministry portion of the program begin at 7:30 a.m.

This year the speaker will be Bill Alexson, son of former Brooklyn Dodgers baseball player Andrew “Doc” Alexson. Bill played professional basketball in Greece for two years. He is the founder of the NBA’s Players Chapel program, and was chaplain to the Boston Celtics for 20 years.

Alexson is founder and president of SportsPower International Inc. and has written five professional athlete testimonial books. He presently travels the world with former and current NBA players to encourage youth to make right choices in life through games, clinics, camps, school assemblies and urban outreaches.

Alexson lives in Baltimore with his wife Valerie and his son Brandon. For more information, go to www.SportsPower.org.

The Sussex County Prayer Breakfast is held each year to bring citizens and community leaders together to pray for the county and be inspired with a morning of music, ministry and personal reflection. Ticket sales and community sponsorships from individuals, organizations and businesses support this annual event. Former County Councilman Dale Dukes is again volunteering his time to coordinate the event.

Tickets are $20 or $150 for a table of eight. To purchase tickets, go to www.SussexPrayerBreakfast.comFor more information, contact Kolby Dukes at 302-875-7551.
