David Thomas Henning, disabled Iraqi veteran
David Thomas Henning of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Laurel, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, from complications resulting from an automobile accident. He was born Jan. 6, 1984.
David's passing is mourned by his parents Mark and Sandra-Dee Henning of Milton; brothers Mark Jr. and Christopher Henning of Old Forge, Pa.; sisters Samantha Layton of Laurel, Tesa Pyle of Lewes, Katrina Henning of Tananarive, Madagascar; Chelsea Henning of Lincoln and Olivia Henning of Long Neck; not to mention aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends across the entire country.
David was a disabled Iraqi War veteran and a strong advocate for organ donation. His last selfless act on this earth was to save the lives of five other people.
A memorial celebration honoring David's life will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at the American Legion Post 19 in Laurel, from noon till 4 p.m., with full Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks for donations in David's honor to be made to the Home of the Brave Facility #2, Milford, DE 19966 for homeless transitioning veterans.
