Ivana Hamilton wins Mrs. Delaware America Pageant 2017
Magnolia’s Ivana Hamilton took top honors at the Mrs. Delaware America Pageant held June 3 at the historic Schwartz Center for the Arts. The packed audience watched with enthusiasm as Tetra Shockley, Esq., crowned her successor at the star-studded event. Hamilton will now move on to compete for Mrs. America, in August, alongside 50 other beautiful women from around the country.
Hamilton is a certified nursing assistant and pharmacy technician in Dover. She competed touting the platform of Geriatric Awareness and plans to generate more awareness and inspiration through a rigorous community and social media campaign.
"As Mrs. Delaware America 2017, I will encourage others to spend more time with our seniors living in residential care facilities," she said.
Hamilton graduated from Johnson & Wales University with a degree in culinary management. As a baking guru she loves utilizing her baking and pastry arts training to create healthier alternatives. She is also an aficionado of Latin/ballroom dances, particularly salsa and East Coast swing. She is married to Daniel Hamilton, who works as a cell company solution specialist and a U.S. Army soldier in the National Guard.
Hamilton’s prize package includes a round-trip ticket to the Mrs. America contest in Las Vegas, hair services, spa services, tanning services and photo shoots.
The contestants competed in three categories: Interview (50 percent), Swimsuit (25 percent) and Evening Gown (25 percent). Hamilton had the highest overall score of the evening to win the top prize.
