Delaware Department of Transportation officials are preparing for traffic in Dover as nearly 90,000 people flood the Woodlands at Dover International Speedway for Firefly Music Festival Thursday, June 15, through Sunday, June 18.

Leipsic Road and Persimmon Tree Road will be closed to through traffic starting at noon, Thursday, June 15, through Sunday evening, June 18.

Camping and RV check-ins will be at Dover International Speedway Lot 1, the largest lot at the venue. Lot 1 is south of the speedway and bordered by Route 13, Leipsic Road and Plaza Drive. Traffic from the south will enter Lot 1 from Route 13 through Jefferic Boulevard, and from the north using Leipsic Road. Campers and RVs coming from the north will take Route 1 to Exit 104, to Route 13 and take a left at Leipsic Road.

If traffic warrants, officials will close Exit 104 and Exit 98 from Route 1, and traffic will be detoured to Exit 95 to Bay Road, onto Route 13 northbound to Lot 1 by Jefferic Boulevard.

Once vehicles are processed at Lot 1, they will exit the east end of the lot, get back on Leipsic Road and travel to their assigned camping area.

For those not camping at the speedway, daily parking is available with access from the main entrance to Dover International Speedway from Route 13.

Will-call passes for Firefly will be processed at Delaware Technical Community College, which can be accessed by Scarborough Road.

Motorists can adjust their routes or travel times by using the DelDOT smartphone app, which is free to download through Google Play and Apple stores. Traffic updates at WTMC 1380 AM also are available through the app.
