Children's Story Time set at Browseabout Books July 27

Catrina Stiller to host
July 16, 2017

Catrina Stiller, author of “Curtis Gets Ready to Dream,” will be hosting a special story time at Browseabout Books Thursday, July 27, beginning at 9 a.m. Stiller, a resident of Rehoboth Beach, wrote the book to encourage interactive storytelling to help children fall asleep.

Bedtime is one of the most important parts of the day. Settling down into a healthy sleep sets one up for a successful tomorrow. Many children, especially those with the challenges of attention deficit disorder, need proper sleep to grow and develop. “Curtis Gets Ready to Dream” is a unique bedtime story that incorporates sleep strategies used by psychologists to train children to fall asleep.

Bedtime is a challenge for puppy Curtis and his mother. Curtis' mother, however, is prepared for the challenge. She establishes a routine that, when followed, earns Curtis treats. Curtis is also encouraged to employ progressive muscle relaxation to help him unwind. Children reading the book are encouraged to "play" along and drift into their own healthy sleep.

Caretakers of young children will find “Curtis Gets Ready to Dream” an indispensable resource with themes of self-reliance. Stiller helps kids learn not only healthy sleep habits, but also body and mind awareness which will help them combat stress for years to come.

Stiller will be sharing her story at a special children's story time at Browseabout Books, 133 Rehoboth Ave, Rehoboth Beach, July 27. Stiller, along with registered therapy dog Curtis, will be available to greet visitors and sign books before and after the reading. Coloring pages and other craft related activities will be available at the event.
