Johnson Orthodontics surprises another teacher with $200

February 4, 2018

Dr. Jonathan C. Johnson recently surprised local teacher Jenna Burkhart with a $200 VISA gift card.

A language arts teacher in the Cape Accelerated Program, Burkhart divides her time between Beacon and Mariner middle schools. She was nominated by Beacon Middle School student Kayla Sponaugle.

Since so many of Johnson's patients attend orthodontic appointments at his office during the school day, he asks them to drop the names of their teachers in a fish bowl. Every few months, he randomly draws a name and surprises that teacher with $200 for his or her classroom.

It's Johnson's way of saying thanks to all those teachers who exhibit patience and understanding toward their students who must miss class. The son of two elementary school teachers, Johnson is committed to supporting local schools and cannot wait to surprise another teacher in May.
