Lorraine Dion named Rehoboth Main Street interim executive director

April 5, 2018

Rehoboth Beach Main Street has named Lorraine Dion as the organization’s interim executive director.

Dion will serve for three months while Main Street’s board begins searching for a full-time executive director.

A native of Dover and a graduate of University of Delaware, Dion was the director of Main Streets in Dover and Middletown, as well as the director of Downtown Milford.

"We are so excited to have Lorraine contribute to the continued reformulation of Rehoboth Beach Main Street," said Board President Trey Kraus. "Her vast experience and leadership is welcome relief for a board that has been operating without an executive director for almost a year.”

Dion said her approach is to bring together the worlds of art, history and small business.

"I'm a passionate advocate for small businesses, historic preservation, the arts and tourism," she said. "I'm looking forward to guiding and supporting Rehoboth Beach Main Street’s board of directors in its revitalization efforts."

Dion will be helping bring structure to the organization, which was reborn in March 2017 after it was slated to close. She said her specialty is nonprofit organization and that she wants to create a solid foundation as Rehoboth Main Street reboots. Dion will be helping in the search for a full-time executive director.

As for what she sees as her biggest challenge, Dion said, “I don't see any. I see opportunities. I think the current Rehoboth Main Street board of 10 members has offered some amazing events and programs in a relatively short period of time with a small, enthusiastic group of people.”
