Carlton ‘Carl’ Schultz, avid sailor
Carlton "Carl" W. Schultz, 70, of Rehoboth Beach, died peacefully at home with close friends at his side Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011.
Born Sept. 26, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pa., Carl grew up in Summerville, N.J.
An avid sailor, Carl retired in 1995 and was active on many committees at Rehoboth Bay Sailing Association, and more recently, the Lewes Yacht Club. The first Carlton W. Schultz Junior Instructor of the Year Award for Outstanding Dedication, Sportsmanship and Service to the LYC Junior Sailing Program was awarded to Ben Watson at the LYC Sailing Banquet Aug. 14.
Carl is survived by his son Robert and daughter-in-law Laura; and grandchildren, Kolbe, 16, and Stryker, 13, of Hillsboro, N.J. He also leaves behind many close friends who will greatly miss his wicked wit and expansive friendship.
Cremation is being handled by Short's Funeral Home of Milton. A memorial will be announced at a later date.
