Servpro of Sussex County owner Raymond Hopkins said it all began in 1993 with a friend who was the director of a Servpro in Maryland. “I watched him and saw what he did. He approached me about buying the company from the former owner who was retiring. The rest is history.”
Hopkins has implemented the slogan, “Like it never even happened,” which is exactly the kind of service they offer. The company, which consists of 19 employees, sends five trucks out daily to assist homeowners whose homes have sustained fire and water damage. They also provide mold remediation, storm damage restoration, cleaning services such as carpet, upholstery and air duct cleaning, odor removal and sewage and bio-hazard clean-up.
Hopkins prides himself and his company on being problem solvers. “The important thing is finding a way to help.” If a problem arises they can’t handle, they find someone who can, he said. His employees always show initiative and go the extra mile. “If you can go the extra mile, do it,” he said emphatically.
When asked about his most memorable moment, Hopkins said, “That’s an interesting question. We are problem solvers. The satisfying part is when the job is complete.” He went on to add, “What’s memorable is when people stand in the middle of the room and cry from losing pictures and other possessions that we have helped to recover and restore.”
To commemorate their 25th anniversary, Servpro of Sussex County is offering a 25 percent discount on residential interior air duct cleaning from July 1-Sept. 1, with some restrictions.
Servpro of Sussex County is located on the westbound lane of the Lewes-Georgetown Highway in Georgetown.
