Geraldine G. Havener, Sunday school teacher

Geraldine G. Havener, 85, of Milton passed away peacefully at home Saturday, July 7, 2018. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. to the late Carl and Sophia (Weis) Kirschman.

Mrs. Havener was a bus aide for the Christiana School District during the 1980s, and was a member of the CHEER Center in Lewes, where she enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of Midway Assembly of God in Lewes, where she was a Sunday school teacher. Geraldine also enjoyed bowling and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Havener Sr.; sister Louise Forbes; brothers Donald, Irvin, Robert and Chester Kirschman.

She is survived by her children, Donna Smith, Debra Lockett, Susan Manning, Sharon Cheuvront, Paul W. Havener Jr. and Karen Furr; sister Ruth Weger; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m., in the chapel of Midway Assembly of God, 34677 Old Postal Lane, Lewes, where friends may call after 6 p.m.

The interment will take place Thursday, July 12, at noon, at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, 2321 W. Chester Pike, Broomall, Pa.
