Rehoboth In Bloom to host information session Feb. 15

New initiative seeks volunteers
February 6, 2019

Rehoboth Beach Main Street recently announced the creation of Rehoboth in Bloom.

Cindy Lovett, Rehoboth Beach Main Street Design Committee chair, said, “We are excited to create this new initiative for downtown Rehoboth Beach. Our goal is to evolve into a future affiliate of the international America in Bloom program. We are currently purchasing 30 self-watering EarthPlanters and are seeking funding from corporate sponsorships, downtown businesses and private donations to help with this effort. Thirty locations have been identified to place these planters within the first blocks of Baltimore, Wilmington and Rehoboth avenues, which will be maintained by RIB volunteers. We need to think big but start small.”

Rehoboth Beach Main Street President Edward Chrzanowski said, “With four committees – organization, promotion, economic vitality, and design – our organization is dedicated to supporting downtown businesses while strengthening and unifying the community. The design committee’s purpose is to explore ways to improve the beautification of downtown Rehoboth Beach. Rehoboth in Bloom will undoubtedly add to our efforts.”

Rehoboth in Bloom is seeking volunteers who can help on all levels, from section lead to weekly or even occasional help. An informational meeting will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15, at The Pines restaurant, 56 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
