February 8, 2019

At its Jan. 24 meeting, the Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission acted on the following site plans for projects in the Cape Region:

• A preliminary site plan for Beebe Healthcare's four-story, 135,000-foot surgical hospital along Warrington Road between Lewes and Rehoboth Beach. The facility will have access from Warrington Road via a traffic circle, as well as access through the existing Beebe Rehoboth Beach Health Campus, east of the 10-acre parcel. County officials previously approved a rezoning from AR-1 to I-1 institutional district and a height variance to 95 feet from 60 feet for the project.

• A revised site plan for Route 24 CJ LLC/Colonial Oaks LLC for a 22,477-square-foot, 104-room hotel along Route 24 across from the Beebe Rehoboth Beach Health Campus near the Plantation Road intersection between Lewes and Rehoboth Beach. Revisions included addition of deluxe rooms and an additional entrance along Route 24.

• A preliminary site plan for Phase 1 of Baywood Garden Villas, a 209-unit, 10-building multifamily community along Long Neck Road adjacent to the Baywood community in Long Neck.

• A revised site plan for Villages at Red Mill Pond South along Route 9 east of Sweetbriar Road near Lewes. Revisions included a landscape plan and new entrance. The community will have 177 single-family lots on 83 acres.

Once preliminary site plans are approved, final site plans are subject to review and approval by state agencies and county planning and zoning staff.
