Milton Elementary students learn about police work

June 9, 2019

Sgt. Tony Mendez from the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit visited May 17 with second-grade students in Olga Tigue and Leslie Mitchell’s classrooms at Milton Elementary School. As part of their reading unit, students are currently learning about jobs within the community.

During his visit, Mendez took time to read a book called “Keeping You Safe” to the students, and shared information about his job as a police officer. Mendez also discussed seatbelt safety using the Seatbelt Convincer demonstration. Students were able to wrap up their visit with a brief question-and-answer session.
