Sometimes Life Stinks! fundraiser to benefit children facing medical challenges

Event set in Milton June 15
June 9, 2019

Sometimes life does stink. But there are ways to find laughter and encouragement in the journey! Get Well Map Foundation is hosting a 50/50 Cowpie Fundraiser to benefit children facing medical challenges Saturday, June 15, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Daddy’s Money Market & Show Goats Farms, 12624 Union St. Extended in Milton.

Here’s the stinkin’ good details on how this fun event works. An enclosed area in a field is marked off into a grid of squares. Each square is given a number. People buy a square. Once the grid is set a cow begins to graze in the field. Spectators eagerly anticipate the moment the cow poops on the section of grass that corresponds with the winning ticket number!

The Cape Henlopen High School FFA will be providing student helpers along with a cow, goats and pigs for the event. This is a family-friendly event with food for purchase from Hot Dogs at the Beach and Frozen Farmer Ice Cream, as well as farm fun activities and animals!

The winner does not have to be present to win.

The Get Well Map Foundation, in collaboration with John Donato Art, creates and provides therapeutic, child-centered Get Well Maps and resources that encourage and motivate children to visually track medical progress during childhood hospitalizations. In addition,  support will benefit CHHS FFA students as they prepare for their busy summer season at the Delaware State Fair!

A $5 Pig Ticket is one chance in the Pig 50/50; a $10 Goat ticket is one chance in the Goat 50/50; a $20 Cow ticket is one spot on the field grid in the Cow 50/50; and $30 for all three chances.

To purchase a ticket, go to www.eventbrite.com and search for Sometimes Life Stinks in Milton, DE! For additional information email Christina Connors, event coordinator, at christina.connors@getwellmaps.org. Ticket purchases and contributions are tax-deductible. The goal of the event is to sell 500 tickets to Benefit Children Facing Medical Challenges.
